The art of screen printing: craftsmanship with meaning
The screen-printing technique we use originates from 16th-century Japan.
Using a finely woven mesh and carefully prepared stencils, each colour is applied separately. A new screen is used for every colour, resulting in a sharp, rich and durable finish.
Our designers create every print specifically for this process, ensuring each play element has the perfect look and a pleasant tactile experience.
Refined finishing with care for the environment
After screen printing, the wooden modules are spray-painted in special cabins. Paint particles are carefully captured so that no harmful substances enter the environment.
Once all components are complete, every product is thoroughly inspected for safety, quality and finish. It is then carefully packed in high-quality, reusable corrugated cardboard.
We minimise plastic use and recycle wherever possible. A conscious choice for both our customers and the planet.
Traditional screen printing
All IKC graphics are specially designed by our graphic designers to be screen printed onto the various play elements.
This classic 16th-century technique originated in Japan. A stencil is created on a fine mesh screen, allowing ink to pass only through specific areas. This process is repeated for each colour, using a separate screen each time, guaranteeing consistently high quality.
IKC chooses this artisanal technique because children’s hands are sensitive enough to feel the different print layers. This tactile experience stimulates curiosity and enhances hand-eye coordination.
