At Maasstad Hospital, children can play throughout the entire hospital — from the waiting area to the consultation room itself. The hospital’s mascot, Monkie Maas, is integrated into the Forex wall panels on which the wall games are mounted.
By incorporating the mascot into the design, the play area becomes recognisable and reassuring for children. This reduces anxiety and makes visits less stressful, resulting in calmer children and more efficient appointments.
