A warm, adventurous welcome for young hotel guests
Zhuhai Renaissance Hotel in China wanted a play space that would instantly appeal to families; a place where children step straight into a lively pirate story. IKC created a fully themed indoor play area with rich details, wooden accents and playful design touches that spark imagination and comfort.
A carefully curated play concept
The entire space breathes pirate adventure. Wall murals full of ships, treasure chests and seabirds turn the room into a storybook; the flooring flows like beach and sea; and cloud- and bird-shaped lights give the area a soft, warm glow.
The play concept is a balanced mix of interactive play, analogue activities and imaginative role-play;
– All aboard serves as a sturdy wooden boat with a fish-sorting game and lookout dome; the perfect start to any pirate quest.
– The custom-designed Ship ahoy playhouse expands the theme with four round play modules and a raised platform for climbing ‘on deck’.
– The Beadstree table offers calm, fine-motor play and is paired with two Buxus Chairs to create a cosy seated area.
To accommodate more children, two Buxus Tables combined with eight Buxus Chairs form a welcoming play and drawing zone where kids can gather, craft, build and rest.
In the centre of the interactive area stands the modified Delta 32-inch Touchtable, designed as a treasure chest; an eye-catcher that allows up to four children to play, discover and collaborate at the same time.
Soft play elements with playful pirate accents
For free movement and open-ended play, four Softplay Life buoys were added; soft, durable elements perfect for sitting, climbing and imaginative play. The Softplay Balancer brings extra fun and motion; a whimsical seesaw that fits naturally within the pirate adventure.
A custom version of the Four fun play system, designed as a lighthouse with four mounted play modules, adds a strong visual anchor in the room. Together with the Watch tower playhouse—featuring a raised platform, slide and clear lookout dome—it forms the ultimate vantage point for young pirates planning their next mission.
