A cosy play corner that brings the outdoors inside; for playful kids and relaxed guests.

More Peace and Play at Hacienda el Milagro in Mexico

At the rustic Hacienda el Milagro in Chihuahua, Mexico, IKC has created a warm and natural play area. Families and groups of friends come here to unwind amid walnut trees and fresh countryside air. The new indoor play space perfectly complements the rural atmosphere, offering a welcoming environment where children can play freely and safely. This play concept adds value for both the young guests and the hacienda; children are happily entertained, while parents and grandparents can fully enjoy their stay.

Carefully curated play concept

For Hacienda el Milagro, IKC designed a thoughtful play concept tailored to the natural surroundings and a variety of age groups. Each element was carefully selected to extend the outdoor feeling into the interior. Two Softplay Birch tree trunks invite children to climb and play, echoing the woodland theme. For digital exploration, two white Delta 21 inch touchscreen systems with Arctic Adventures software offer educational, non-violent games that fit perfectly within the serene, nature-inspired setting. In front of each screen is a cheerful blue Fun chair; ideal for seated play. Tip of the Iceberg challenges children to rotate the wheel and guide a ball through a maze while avoiding the ice holes; great for hand-eye coordination. The round panel with its birch frame and protective dome fits perfectly into the natural play space.

The play area also features the Wheel of Emotions; a circular wall game where children can recognise feelings and create funny faces. There’s also the Swinging Top Maze; a balance game that lets children guide a ball through a maze by tilting the surface. This improves motor skills and concentration. To spark even more imagination, we added the playful All aboard play structure, styled as a little boat, complete with a blue seat and a softplay life buoy. And of course, the green IKC Van adds a classic, adventurous twist with its game modules and signature shape. Together, these components form a harmonious play environment where adventure, learning and relaxation come together.

More peace at the table, higher guest satisfaction

The new play area instantly creates more peace and relaxation for guests. While children immerse themselves in their own playful world, parents can enjoy a meal or conversation without distraction. No more little ones running around the tables; instead, they are drawn to colourful games and soft materials. The result: more freedom for adults and more fun for kids.

This calm atmosphere translates into increased guest satisfaction. Smiling parents, relaxed grandparents and joyful kids; what more could a holiday offer? Guests appreciate the attention to family-friendly details. And when children are happy, the entire group feels more at home.

From empty room to natural play experience

What started as an empty space with two white walls and two windowed walls has now been transformed into a lively play corner bursting with nature. Two of the walls are decorated with panoramic forest-themed wallpaper featuring birch trees, a curious woodpecker, a fox, a hedgehog, robins and even a majestic Highland cow.

Thanks to the full-height windows, natural light floods the space, while the surrounding walnut trees visually connect the indoor and outdoor areas. The sense of nature flows straight inside; children play as if they are in the heart of the forest, yet with all the safety and comfort of being indoors. The use of soft colours, wood textures and playful animals gives the room a warm and welcoming feel. What was once an unused space is now a cosy, natural hideaway where children can dream, explore and play. The countryside atmosphere of Hacienda el Milagro remains ever-present.

This new IKC play concept at Hacienda el Milagro shows how a well-designed children’s corner can make all the difference. A perfect blend of themed experience and functional play that brings joy to young visitors and peace of mind to their families. A win-win for everyone enjoying this beautiful place.
