From a noisy play corner to a place where children love to play and parents can sit back and relax
Children have always been welcome at Nieuw Vosseven. There was already a small play corner in the restaurant, but in practice, it did not create the calm atmosphere they had hoped for. The loose play elements, including hard plastic building blocks, made quite a lot of noise. As a result, both guests and staff sometimes experienced the play corner as disruptive, and it was eventually removed.
But of course, that did not take away the desire to give children a great experience and to continue making Nieuw Vosseven an attractive place for families.
A play corner that truly fits Nieuw Vosseven
Nieuw Vosseven started looking for a different approach to indoor play. Not simply some toys in a corner, but a safe and well-designed play environment that becomes part of the overall experience.
The nature surrounding Nieuw Vosseven provided the inspiration. A large themed Forex wall featuring a lake and lush forests brings the outdoor surroundings inside and gives children the freedom to use their imagination. The Softplay Birch and Evy the fox enhance the woodland theme and give the space that little bit of extra character.
There is a surprising amount to discover within the enclosed play area. Children can enjoy several wall-mounted play modules, including Into the Woods, Spinball and the Sliding Puzzle. The latter was completely custom-made to match the theme and create an even more immersive experience.
There is also the beautiful stand-alone Honey Play and a bead table. The interactive Delta 43-inch Touch Table adds digital play without the need for an internet connection or subscription.
This means there is something to enjoy for different ages, allowing children to play happily without the noise caused by the previous play corner. Parents and other guests can relax and enjoy their visit at the same time.
Especially when playing outside isn’t an option
On sunny days, there is plenty for children to enjoy outdoors around Nieuw Vosseven. But in the Netherlands, you can never plan the weather. That is why, especially on a rainy day, it is valuable to have an indoor space where children genuinely enjoy spending time.
While the children play, parents can stay seated and enjoy their visit. The play area has been designed so parents can keep an eye on their children without having to sit right next to them all the time. This creates a more relaxed atmosphere at the table and, above all, makes the visit more enjoyable for the whole family.
More and more families are discovering Nieuw Vosseven
Nieuw Vosseven had always had a play corner, but the new play area has become much more integrated into the overall experience. It creates significantly less noise and has a calm, inviting look and feel that fits the restaurant much better.
Nieuw Vosseven is already noticing that more young families are discovering the location. While its guests were previously mainly an older audience, the restaurant has now become more attractive to everyone, including families with children.
Children can enjoy playing while their parents relax, stay a little longer and are more likely to return.
